Death Toll and Injuries Rise Following Earthquake in Iran
At least four people have died and more than 120 have been injured due to an earthquake that struck the Kashmar region of Razavi Khorasan province in Iran. This information was reported by Mehr, citing local authorities.
The authorities in the northeastern Razavi Khorasan province announced on Tuesday that a 5.0-magnitude earthquake occurred at 1:24 PM local time. Following the earthquake, rescue and search teams were dispatched to the area, with officials stating that 35 of the 120 injured individuals were transported to hospitals for treatment of their injuries sustained during the quake.
Reports indicate that the earthquake primarily affected dilapidated buildings. Images from the earthquake zone have also been published.
