3,146 Traffic Violations in Yerevan in One Week: Results of Patrol Services in the Capital and Regions
From June 10 to 17, during operations in the capital, Yerevan patrol officers detected 3,146 traffic violations and towed 75 vehicles to designated areas. The police reported that specifically, 101 drivers were found to be operating vehicles under the influence, while 177 individuals were driving without a valid driver’s license. Other violations included issues related to registration plates (18), not wearing seatbelts (433), using tobacco products while driving (180), using mobile phones while driving (124), pedestrians crossing in unauthorized areas (71), and 1,476 other offenses.
Moreover, 96 vehicles were operated without insurance contracts, 141 had not undergone technical inspection, 65 had faulty external lighting devices, and 183 had tinted windshields and side windows. In addition, 45 individuals were arrested on various suspicions and taken to police stations.
During the same period, police in the regions detected 12,973 traffic violations, towing 148 vehicles to secure locations. There were 206 cases of individuals driving under the influence and 701 without a driver’s license. Additionally, offenses related to registration plates (51), not wearing seatbelts (3,223), using tobacco while driving (239), using mobile phones while driving (419), pedestrians crossing in unauthorized areas (40), exceeding speed limits (1,174), and 3,702 other violations were noted.
In the regions, 502 vehicles were operated without insurance contracts, 1,576 had not passed technical inspections, 517 had faulty external lighting devices, which included 136 trucks, and 167 vehicles had tinted front and side windows. Furthermore, 29 individuals were arrested on various suspicions.
