“Let’s clarify how many planes France can transfer,” says Emmanuel Macron
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, announced the commencement of training for pilots and mechanics for Mirage fighter jets, which Paris promises to provide to Kyiv. He made this announcement during a joint press conference in Paris with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Mirage 2000 is a fourth-generation multi-role single-engine fighter aircraft. Macron declined to specify the exact number of aircraft.
“We have agreed on needs; the priority now is the training of pilots and mechanics, after which we will clarify how many planes France can transfer,” he explained.
According to Macron, the training is set to prepare 4,500 Ukrainian soldiers.
