Why is the ANIF Being Liquidated? A Question for Tigran Avinyan
The ANIF [Armenian National Interests Fund] has actually been the company that laid the foundation for our most important, largest, and most promising programs since 2018. This was stated today, June 5, during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly by Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, addressing the question of whether the dissolution of the organization he leads constitutes a failure.
“Within the framework of ANIF, we have signed a program to construct 200 megawatt solar power plants with the Arab company ‘Masdar,’ making us the first in the region to undertake such a project. We have also implemented various innovative programs that have proven financially effective and interesting,” Avinyan noted.
Regarding how the property remaining after ANIF will be managed in the future, he stated, “Of course, that is a decision for today’s Government.”
When asked why ANIF is being liquidated, he responded, “That question should not be directed at me.”
