Every government must agree to every demand of the people: Avinyan
The Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, has addressed the recent actions of the opposition, stating that everyone has the right to engage in political activity. He noted, 'If certain opposition figures present specific proposals, some people listen to them, some do not, some believe them, and some are disappointed; that is the right of political figures.'
Avinyan is confident that the democratic institutions in the country will never be abolished again. 'Free, fair, and democratic elections will always be the institution that prevails in the country,' he affirmed.
According to Avinyan, every government must agree to every demand of the people. 'But this is about the demands of the people, not the opposition, which can be confidently said is a minority at this moment.' He emphasized that Armenia is a democratic country where the people will decide who is in power. 'Everyone trusts the elections that have been organized since 2018.'
The mayor highlighted that they will not allow the resurgence of anti-democratic processes.
