Participant Stabs Another During Gathering; Suspect Arrested
On May 30, 2024, around 19:30, a gathering organized by the "Tavush for Homeland" movement took place near the St. Anna Church, at the intersection of Sayat Nova and Abovyan streets in Yerevan. During the event, an argument ensued between participants S.D. and R.H., during which R.H. inflicted stab wounds on S.D.'s cheek and neck with a sharp object, causing physical injuries. This information has been reported by the Investigative Committee.
As a result of the measures taken, R.H. has been arrested and presented to the pre-trial body. A personal search revealed the weapon used in the crime on R.H.
A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Central and Norq-Marash administrative districts in accordance with Article 171, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. A decision has been made to arrest R.H., who has previously faced criminal liability four times for desertion, voluntarily leaving military service, and stealing the property of others, based on the presence of reasonable suspicion of committing a crime.
Investigative actions including interrogations and expert examinations have been carried out within the framework of this case. The investigation is ongoing.
