This Is Thuggery: Arman Tatoyan
This is thuggery. What right does the police have to act like a street thug, regardless of what the citizen has done? This opinion was expressed by Armenia's former human rights defender Arman Tatoyan, commenting on the violence and insults directed at MP Ashot Simonyan by dozens of police officers.
The founder of the 'Tatoyan' Foundation emphasized, 'If they do this to an MP, what will they do to an ordinary citizen? These 'police officers' should be subject to criminal punishment—there should be no internal investigation.'
Earlier, it was reported that police used force to detain MP Ashot Simonyan near the HHD office in Yerevan. A video of the incident has also been published.
