VIDEO: The West Reacts to Georgia's Incidents, Remains Silent on Armenia – Zakharova
Official representatives of the USA and the EU are literally attacking the authorities of Georgia every day for their allegedly brutal treatment of protesters, while the West remains completely silent regarding Armenia. This statement was made by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, commenting on the protests occurring in Yerevan and Tbilisi.
“We always say that the internal political life of any country is a matter of that sovereign state. In this case, the Western reaction is astonishing in its 'stability' regarding the application of double standards,” she said.
She also recalled that against the background of mass arrests in Armenia, brute force is also being used. “It seems as if the West has been disconnected from that agenda, turned on to only one note, while everything else seems to be not happening,” the Russian Foreign Ministry's representative added.
Zakharova pointed out that the media in the EU and the USA are, so to speak, promoting the demonstrations in Georgia, presenting the participants in reports as heroes. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that in the West, it is pretended that nothing is happening in Armenia, despite the mass protests, or the events are presented as something that does not reflect the will of the Armenian people and is allegedly directed from abroad.
