Video: Large Police Presence Accumulates in Downtown Yerevan
A significant police presence has accumulated in downtown Yerevan. A correspondent from Sputnik Armenia has reported numerous police officers, and our footage shows that new police units are being deployed towards the national academic theater of Opera and Ballet.
The police have set up barricades around the building, starting from the entrance of Northern Avenue. Today, at 17:00, the EBRD international forum will take place here, with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also in attendance. Organizers at the site referred to as the 'besieged opera' are preparing for the forum and welcoming guests.
It is noteworthy that yesterday the 'Tavush for the Motherland' movement announced plans to hold a protest against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the same location.
