Shoigu and Patrushev Participate in Russia's Security Council Meeting
The new Secretary of Russia's Security Council, Sergey Shoigu, and his predecessor Nikolai Patrushev both participated in an operational meeting with Security Council members, according to РИА Новости.
The status under which Patrushev attended the meeting is not reported, given that he was dismissed from the position of Secretary of the Security Council by Putin on May 12 'in connection with transitioning to other work.' No official announcements have been made regarding Patrushev's new role.
On the official Security Council website, information about the Secretary has been updated to reflect Sergey Shoigu as the current Secretary. There is also no mention of Nikolai Patrushev's new position there.
