Israel Launches Military Operations in Jabalia, Northern Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have initiated operations aimed at countering the return of Hamas members to the city of Jabalia in northern Gaza. The announcement about the intensification of military activities in the enclave was made by IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari.
“We have observed Hamas's attempts in recent weeks to restore its military capabilities in Jabalia, and we are conducting operations in that area to eliminate this threat,” stated Hagari.
It was reported the day before that the Israeli military government had approved the expansion of operations in Rafah, located in southern Gaza. Later, John Kirby, Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the White House National Security Council, announced that Israel's current operations do not constitute an incursion or a major ground operation.
Additionally, Hamas indicated that the movement has not withdrawn from the ceasefire negotiations regarding Gaza, but the dialogue has been suspended due to Israeli actions.
Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that the war between Israel and Hamas would continue until 2025.
