VIDEO: What is cryptocurrency? I see a big problem, says Pashinyan

It has been proposed that the formulation of ownership rights for crypto assets, as well as the sale, payment for them, and receipt of payment, should be carried out exclusively through cashless means, regardless of the amount. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sarkissian during a Government meeting.

“Whenever we talk about cryptocurrencies, we essentially talk about them in a negative context, linking them to crime and drug trafficking, but the same is done with the traditional cash we know. When we say cryptocurrency, there is either drugs involved, or bribery, or money laundering. Isn’t everything done with regular cash too?” said Nikol Pashinyan.

He pointed out, “Ultimately, what is cryptocurrency? What role does it play in the economy of Armenia? Has anyone calculated this? I see a big problem,” he emphasized.
