NSS Issues Statement
In response to the information circulating on social media and in the media, we inform you that the Baghanis-Voskepar highway has been closed to ensure the safety of demining operations being carried out in the adjacent area and to prevent citizens from entering nearby mined areas for their safety. This was reported by the National Security Service of Armenia.
Demarcation works are scheduled to be carried out in the Baghanis-Voskepar sector today. We also inform you that reports alleging that any part of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia will be surrendered to Azerbaijan are unfounded.
We emphasize that no changes to the Armenia-Azerbaijan contact line are expected today. Following the demarcation of the border, the protection of the border line will be entrusted to the border troops of the Republic of Armenia.
