Ministry of Internal Affairs Issues Statement Regarding Baghanis-Voskepat Section
In response to information circulating on social media and in the media, we report that the Baghanis-Voskepat highway has been closed to ensure the safety of mine clearance operations being conducted in the surrounding area and to prevent citizens from entering nearby mined areas.
This was announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. "Today, works related to the demarcation are scheduled to be carried out in the Baghanis-Voskepat section. We also inform that reports suggesting that any part of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia is to be handed over to Azerbaijan are untrue. We emphasize that no changes along the Armenia-Azerbaijan contact line are planned for today. After the demarcation, the protection of the border line will be handed over to the Border Guards of the Republic of Armenia," the statement said.
