Comment on the Withdrawal of Russian Peacekeepers from Artsakh by CSTO
According to Imangali Tasmagambetov, the Secretary General of the CSTO, Baku has its own forces to ensure security in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“As for the presence of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh, it is currently part of the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which has its own forces for security provision. It is evident that this issue cannot be resolved unilaterally. I believe that stability in the region largely depends on the prospects for signing a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” he stated while commenting on the withdrawal of Russian peacekeeping forces from the area.
