Citizens Also Blocked the Bavra Checkpoint
In support of the people of Tavush, a group of citizens today also blocked the Bavra checkpoint in Shirak region, paralyzing traffic on the Armenia-Georgia interstate border. “Our message is for the people of Tavush; this issue is not just theirs, it is an Armenian issue,” said one of the citizens who blocked the road leading to the Bavra checkpoint.
“We have organized this action to show our support; this is not a one-time action. We will continue to hold actions in solidarity with the people of Tavush from Shirak,” he added.
The interstate road was closed for about an hour, after which, following an agreement with the police, the citizens opened it. It should be noted that the Armenia-Georgia interstate road passing through Tavush continues to remain closed. The interstate road passing through Lori region was also briefly closed.
