Allegations of Domestic Violence: Khachatryan Addresses Zarokyan
During today’s session of the Yerevan City Council, Ani Khachatryan, the leader of the "Republic" faction, urged Pedro Zarokyan, a member of the "National Progress" faction, to search for his name in the "Data Lex" judicial information system.
“We are looking, and there is a criminal case against you as well. Go ahead and look up your name in the system; you have committed acts of violence against a woman,” said Khachatryan.
Another council member responded, stating that Pedro Zarokyan has assaulted his wife.
It is noteworthy that there is a divorce case concerning Pedro Zarokyan and his wife recorded in the judicial information system since 2020. The wife has reported in court that both she and their minor children have been regularly subjected to harsh treatment and violence by Zarokyan, resulting in an unhealthy atmosphere in the family.
She indicated that the abuse has also been documented by the police, and a criminal case was initiated; however, it was dismissed during judicial proceedings, as she reconciled with the defendant, believing in his reformation for the sake of their children.
The court has decided to grant Iveta Ghazaryan's petition against Pedro Hadani Zarokyan regarding the divorce demand.
