Saakashvili Calls on Supporters of All Ages to Rise Up
The former President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, has called on his supporters to organize protests against the adoption of the 'Transparency of Foreign Influence' law in the country.
“I urge supporters from all age groups to oppose the law developed by Russia and to support our country’s independence, freedom, and future, which is only possible together with Europe,” Saakashvili stated.
Protests against the 'Transparency of Foreign Influence' law began this morning. Initially, a group of civil activists gathered on a parallel street behind the parliament building, demanding that lawmakers halt discussions on the document. Evening demonstrations are expected to continue. A protest against the adoption of the law is currently taking place in downtown Tbilisi, which led to scuffles at the local parliament today.
