Britain Discusses Sending Migrants to Armenia: How Much Does Each Migrant Cost?
The United Kingdom has begun negotiations with Armenia, Côte d'Ivoire, Costa Rica, and Botswana regarding the potential sending of their illegal migrants under a scheme related to Rwanda. This was reported by The Times, citing British government documents that have become available due to a leak.
The UK has considered nearly a dozen countries with which to initiate similar negotiations. London has already reached out to Paraguay, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, and Colombia. It is noted that these countries are less interested in such arrangements.
For this purpose, London is paying approximately £4.5 billion, which means each deported migrant will cost the kingdom £150,000.
