Blinken Announces US Efforts to Prevent Escalation Between Iran and Israel
The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has announced that the United States is making diplomatic efforts in the Middle East to prevent further escalation of tensions between Iran and Israel.
According to Armenpress, as reported by TASS, Blinken made this statement during a meeting with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Mohammed al-Halbousi, who is visiting Washington.
According to the US Secretary of State, coordination efforts regarding a diplomatic response have been underway for the past 36 hours in an attempt to avert escalation. He noted that he is in close contact with regional partners, which will continue in the coming days.
"We do not seek escalation. However, we will continue to support Israel's defense and protect our personnel in the region," Blinken added.
