Georgian President Calls Ruling 'Georgian Dream' Party 'Russian Dream'
The President of Georgia, Salome Zourabichvili, has referred to the ruling party ‘Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia’ as ‘Russian Dream’ due to its political actions.
“This is a ‘Russian Dream’,” Zourabichvili responded to a television presenter’s question about whether ‘Georgian Dream’ could be considered ‘Russian’ because of its policies and decisions.
As Zourabichvili noted, she had long refrained from labeling the Georgian government as pro-Russian, as the institution of the presidency calls for neutrality, and such an assessment could hinder Georgia’s European path. However, according to her, the country is at a stage where it is necessary to save this European path.
