Iran's Strikes on Israel Inevitable, Could Occur in Coming Days: Bloomberg
The U.S. anticipates that Iran will strike Israel. It remains unclear whether this will signal the start of a new war in the Middle East, according to Bloomberg.
Significant missile strikes or drone attacks by Iran or its proxy forces against Israel are considered inevitable, based on intelligence received by the U.S. and its allies, Bloomberg reports.
The targets of the strikes are likely to be military and government facilities in Israel, rather than civilian locations. The attack could take place in the coming days, suggest sources in the agency.
Western intelligence does not believe that the attack will necessarily come from Lebanon, despite the strong positions of the Iran-aligned group Hezbollah, widely seen as Tehran's main proxy.
It remains uncertain whether a strike by Iran or its allied forces will lead to a broader and prolonged war or if it can be contained, according to one of the agency's sources.
Additionally, it has been noted that the global benchmark for Brent crude oil has risen by more than 1% following this news, exceeding the $90 per barrel mark.
