Avinyan Orders Strict Enforcement: Which Businesses Will Be Fined
According to the "Fact" newspaper, a decision made by the Yerevan City Council last year established new criteria for advertising and the placement (distribution) of advertising means, which businesses must adhere to starting January 1, 2024. The aim is for "advertising and advertising means to match the architecture of Yerevan and correspond to the object and environment where they are placed."
As reported by the "Fact" newspaper, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan recently conducted a tour of the Kentron administrative district, after which he held a serious discussion with sector officials behind closed doors. According to our sources, only 20 percent of businesses in the Kentron administrative district have conformed their external advertising to the new standards, meaning that the overwhelming majority have not made the necessary changes for various reasons.
It has also come to our attention that Avinyan has instructed the Public Order Protection Service to begin strict enforcement, meaning that all businesses that do not align their outdoor advertising with the new criteria will face fines.
