Possible Causes for Rapid Spread of Fire at Crocus Identified
The materials used to finish the walls of the "Crocus City Hall" concert venue may have contributed to the rapid development of the fire set by terrorists. This was reported by TASS, citing a source in law enforcement agencies.
The informant stated that the burning materials, from which the hall's walls are made, are also highly toxic when burned, releasing a significant amount of toxic smoke.
He added that all data, documents, and compliance certificates are being studied and analyzed.
Eyewitnesses who escaped from the hall recalled that after the arson, the fire engulfed the entire wall almost instantly. The lawyer for the victims of the terrorism, Igor Trunov, has submitted a request to the investigative committee to initiate criminal proceedings against the owners of the complex, as the applicants believe that the building lacked necessary fire protection systems.
On March 22, terrorists opened fire on peaceful people and set the building ablaze before the concert of the band "Picnic" at the Crocus City Hall near Moscow. According to the latest data, 695 people were injured as a result of the terrorist attack.
