US-EU-Armenia Trilateral Meeting Will Lead to Escalation of Tensions: Aliyev
During a phone conversation between US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Aliyev stated that according to his available information, issues such as providing military assistance to Armenia have been discussed in the preparation process for the trilateral meeting.
Aliyev conveyed to Blinken that the trilateral meeting between the US, EU, and Armenia would lead to an escalation of tensions in the South Caucasus. “The accusations from the West regarding Azerbaijan's intentions to attack Armenia are completely unfounded. Azerbaijan is committed to the declaration adopted during the Prague meeting in 2022 and the Almaty Declaration,” said Aliyev.
It is worth noting that previously, Blinken had informed Aliyev that the meeting scheduled for April 5 is not directed against Azerbaijan.
