Israel's Foreign Ministry has reacted to the defeat of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in local elections.
“Erdoğan's candidates have lost in Turkey's local elections. We congratulate the winners in Istanbul and Ankara. This is a clear signal to Erdoğan that provocations against Israel no longer work,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry stated.
