Hayk Marutyan to Establish New Political Party 'New Force'
The former mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan, is set to establish a new political party. This was announced in a conversation with Sputnik Armenia by Aram Torosyan, a member of the Yerevan City Council from the 'National Progress' faction.
The party will be called 'New Force', and the founding congress of the party is scheduled for May 1.
It is noteworthy that Marutyan was a candidate for mayor from the 'National Progress' party during the municipal elections in 2023.
On February 7, 2024, when Marutyan was stripped of his city council member mandate during a council session, he stated in a press conference that he intends to participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled for 2026. He also mentioned that he plans to run for the position of Prime Minister from the newly established party in the near future.
