"I Will Not Withdraw the U.S. from NATO as Long as Europeans Are Paying" - Trump
Donald Trump, a candidate for the presidency of the United States, has stated that if he wins, the country will not withdraw from NATO as long as European members of the alliance are paying their fair share. Trump made this announcement during an interview with British broadcaster GB News.
"The United States should pay its fair share (of NATO defense costs) and should not pay for others," he said. According to Trump, NATO is "more important for European countries than for the U.S." He emphasized that there is an ocean—a large, beautiful ocean—between the U.S. and some of the issues in Europe.
