Aliyev Evaluates France's Position on the Artsakh Issue
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has stated that France's position on the events in Nagorno-Karabakh contradicts the opinion of the international community. His words were quoted by TASS.
“Unfortunately, I must note the position of one country (on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue), which is in complete contradiction to the international community. This is France,” he said.
Earlier, Aliyev referred to reports about Azerbaijan's plans to attack Armenia as “insinuations” from French President Emmanuel Macron. In his view, such statements are part of Paris's anti-Asian policy.
On January 18, the French Senate adopted a resolution calling for the European Union to impose sanctions against Azerbaijan. Later, the committee of Azerbaijan's parliament issued a statement in response to Paris's actions, calling for restrictions to be imposed against itself.
