Hamas Agrees to Ceasefire Initiative in Gaza Proposed by the USA
The Palestinian Hamas movement has agreed to a ceasefire in Gaza and the gradual return of displaced individuals, as reported by Al Arabiya.
Earlier, Politico noted that US President Joe Biden may consider limiting military aid to Israel if Tel Aviv expands its ground operations in the Gaza Strip.
The initiative proposed by the US includes a cessation of military operations in the enclave and a gradual return of displaced persons. At the same time, the American leader emphasized that the ceasefire agreement is already in the hands of the radical Palestinian Hamas movement, and the decision to accept it rests solely with the group's leadership. Thus, Washington has placed the responsibility for sealing the ceasefire on the Palestinian side.
