US Confirms British Cargo Ship Sunk in Red Sea
The US Central Command has confirmed that the British cargo ship MV Rubymar has sunk in the Red Sea. Recall that on February 18, it was attacked by forces of the Houthi movement (Ansar Allah) operating in northern Yemen in the Gulf of Aden.
On February 19, the Houthis announced the assault on the ship, claiming it had sustained significant damage and was at risk of sinking. The crew of the ship managed to evacuate.
On the same day, Sky News Arabia reported, citing Yemeni sources, that the ship had sunk. This was also confirmed by a military spokesman for the Houthis. It is worth noting that the US Central Command had acknowledged that a Houthis missile hit the cargo ship, but did not comment on the condition of the vessel.
