Armenia Ready to Sign Peace with Azerbaijan, Kostanyan
Armenia is ready to sign a peace agreement with Azerbaijan if the latter shows political will. This was stated to Reuters by Armenia's Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan.
“This is a matter of political will and leadership. On the Armenian side, we have that and have demonstrated our political will multiple times. If the Azerbaijani side is genuinely interested in peace, it will simply remain for the leaders to put the agreed principles on paper and sign,” said the Deputy Minister.
Referring to relations with another neighbor, Turkey, the Deputy Minister noted that Armenia aims for a complete resolution. “Armenia-Turkey, let me say once again, by opening the border and establishing diplomatic relations, we aim to achieve a full normalization of relations that has been absent for 30 years,” he said.
