The US Senate has rejected an attempt to block the sale of F-16 fighter jets to Turkey, according to voting results. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.

Senators declined to present the proposed measure for a general vote in the Foreign Relations Committee. After Turkey lifted its objections to Sweden's entry into NATO, the White House requested Congress to approve the sale of F-16s and their modernization equipment to Turkey, valued at over $20 billion.

It is noteworthy that earlier, Senator Rand Paul condemned the use of Turkish F-16s during the 2020 assaults by Turkey and Azerbaijan against Armenia and Artsakh, calling on his Senate colleagues to adopt a resolution that would block the sale of F-16s and other American weapons systems to Turkey.
