Zakharova Responds to Alen Simonyan's Statements

The spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has commented on the statements made by the Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly, Alen Simonyan.

“Russia views Alen Simonyan's words regarding the necessity of withdrawing Russian border guards from Yerevan airport as an example of unfriendly behavior. Of course, it is unclear to what extent the Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly is responsible for the topic he raised. Russia has not received any questions from Armenia regarding the withdrawal of border troops from Yerevan airport. We understand that this issue has arisen in connection with the case of Dmitry Sirakov, and we assure you that we have not engaged in any illegal activities; we respect the national legislation of states,” she stated.
