VIDEO: Ministry of Emergency Situations Reports on the Incident Involving Overturned Fuel Tanker in Syunik
On February 27, at 11:55 AM, the Crisis Management Center of the Syunik Regional Rescue Department received information about a traffic accident near the Tatev Monastery complex, indicating a fuel leak.
Fire and rescue teams from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' regional rescue department and one combat unit from the Agvanian outpost were dispatched to the scene.
It was found that a "Dongfeng" brand fuel tanker (driver M.G., born in 1977), loaded with 23 tons of aviation fuel, had veered off the roadway (approximately 3 meters) on the 42nd kilometer of the Kapan-Tatev highway, resulting in damage to the tanker and a subsequent fuel leak.
The rescuers cut off the power to the vehicle and extracted the driver. The injured person was hospitalized, where doctors assessed his condition as moderate.
The Deputy Director of the Emergency Situations Agency, Colonel Y. Karapetyan, was present at the scene.
