Greenery Projects to Be Implemented in Several Streets of the Capital
The Yerevan City Hall has announced plans to implement large-scale greenery projects in several streets of the capital. Specifically, as part of the spring tree planting initiative, around 20 parks and green areas in Yerevan will be enriched with valuable trees.
In Mashtots Boulevard, the lawns are set to be enhanced with evergreen and ornamental plant species including kalikrou and kaskazian bajati. The poplar clusters in the boulevard will be supplemented with horsetail, and evergreen shrub species will be planted in the medians designated for pedestrians.
On Alek Manukyan Street, near the Radiotan, the aging willows will be replaced with lenkoranian albis and soap trees. The irrigation system in the area, currently in poor condition, will also be renovated.
On Bagratuniats Boulevard, the unviable willows will be replaced with Japanese safflower trees. On Melik Adamyan Street, at the back of the government building, the willows will be replaced with a globular catalpa tree species. Considering the architectural significance of the building, a medium-canopy tree species has been chosen for planting.
An irrigation network will be installed on Khanjian Street, followed by the planting of horse-tails. At the end of Sayat Nova Boulevard, in the section bordering the Circular Park, horse-tails will be planted, and in the segment of the boulevard leading to Argentine Square, a globular poplar will be planted.
On Tumanyan Street, work is underway to lay down the irrigation water line. It is planned to plant Judas trees. Part of the willows on Ulnetsi Street has already been replaced with horse-tails, and it is planned to continue the same tree replacements.
In the middle section of Babajanyan Boulevard, globular catalpas will be planted. A city forest will be established on 10 hectares in Norq Marash.
