Video: Gevorg Papoyan on Discussions Regarding His Appointment as Minister of Economy

These were the words of Gevorg Papoyan, the Chairman of the National Assembly’s Financial-Budgetary Committee from the Civil Contract party, responding to discussions regarding his potential appointment as Minister of Economy.

It should be noted that on February 14, Vahan Kerobyan resigned from the position of Minister of Economy, after which he was charged in relation to a criminal case concerning ‘Sinergi’. He has been subjected to a two-month house arrest.

Kerobyan is accused of abusing his official powers through conspiracy for selfish purposes, either by misappropriating, using them, or applying influence. He has been interrogated in connection with the ‘Sinergi’ case, after which charges were brought against him, initiating public criminal proceedings related to apparent abuses in the procurement contest for the needs of the Ministry of Economy.
