As a Country That Has Suffered Occupation, We Fully Understand Your Situation: Aliyev to Zelensky
Ukrainian and Azerbaijani Presidents Volodymyr Zelensky and Ilham Aliyev held a meeting within the framework of the Munich Security Conference. This was reported by a correspondent from Europejska Prawda from Munich.
At the beginning of the negotiations, the leaders of Ukraine and Azerbaijan reaffirmed their support for the territorial integrity of both countries. Notably, the delegations chose English for their communication, despite Aliyev typically conducting negotiations in Russian.
Zelensky opened the meeting by congratulating his counterpart on the recent electoral victory and included wishes for peace in his greetings. "We know how high the price of peace is," Zelensky added.
Aliyev responded, saying, "Our support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity is unwavering, and that will not change. As a country that has suffered occupation, we fully understand your situation and wish peace to the Ukrainians and Ukraine."
