Fingerprint Examination Will Take Only 3 Minutes Instead of the Previous 2 Hours
The Forensic Examination Division of the Republic of Armenia's Forensic Center will now conduct fingerprint examinations more accurately, thanks to the acquisition of new generation equipment. This was reported by the Forensic Center of the Republic of Armenia.
Using this device, fingerprints will be scanned and digitized electronically, which will confirm or refute the identification of the individual in question. It is noteworthy that this examination was previously conducted using mechanical methods, where fingerprints were taken from a person and transferred onto paper using special materials. However, the new device allows experts to perform the same examination in a much shorter time frame. While the mechanical process took about 2 hours, the new device can complete the examination in just 1 to 3 minutes.
Fingerprint identification examinations are assigned as needed, and the 'dactylo' card (a document) is provided upon request by individuals to the police of the Republic of Armenia, embassies of other countries, and various state and international organizations.
