Detained Judge Arusyak Aleksanyan Appeals to the Constitutional Court

Judge Arusyak Aleksanyan, who is currently detained, has appealed to the Constitutional Court contesting the compliance of part 1, point 5 of Article 120 of the Criminal Procedure Code with the Constitution. This was reported by 'Hraparak'.

According to this article, 'The authorized person releases the defendant from custody if the detention period set by the court has expired and no decision has been received from the court to extend it.'

The Constitutional Court has scheduled the hearing of the case for February 6.

Aleksanyan was detained in October 2022.
