It's Now the Enemy's Turn: Budanov on New Counteroffensive

The Ukrainian armed forces will launch a new counteroffensive in the spring of 2024. This was promised by Kyrylo Budanov, the head of Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate, during an interview with the Telegraph.

“We are taking steps, the enemy is taking steps. It is now the enemy's turn. They will finish, and then it will be our turn,” Budanov said, clarifying that this refers specifically to the spring.

Previously, Budanov had noted that the Russian Armed Forces are making advances on the front line, particularly near Avdiivka. He also mentioned that since November of last year, the Ukrainian armed forces have shifted to a defensive posture.

On January 26, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia James O'Brien announced that Ukraine's 2024 military strategy would be offensive, aiming to destabilize the situation in the Black Sea.
