Ani Ispryan is an impeccable individual, she is now at home. This was stated by Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan during an interview with Petros Ghazaryan on Public Television.

“Ani Ispryan returned to Armenia from Russia during the 44-day war in 2020. In my opinion, this is a very honorable step, and I can say that in my three years of joint work with her, it has only strengthened my attitude towards her. I am more than convinced that she is an impeccable individual. She is now at home.

First, let me say that the fight against corruption is our everyday work. And I have unwavering faith in that process. Corruption is a cancer that undermines our society, our economic growth, and it is our duty to eradicate it. I believe that the allegations against Ani Ispryan may raise doubts in the public's mind, but we should not rush to conclusions. In 2021, similarly, the head of the Licensing Department was arrested from the Ministry of Economy, but three years have passed, and we still do not have an indictment. Let's wait and see where the events will lead. I do not know the details, but I have been fully informed,” he said.

It should be noted that yesterday the Investigative Committee of Armenia announced that Ani Ispryan, Deputy Minister of Economy, has been arrested. During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that officials from the Ministry of Economy, with the inducement and assistance of the director and employees of company N, a participant in the procurement competition for the “Creation of a Public Investment Bank” service, created conditions for the other participant foundation that made its participation in the competition allegedly impossible, unlawfully considering it as non-compliant with the competition requirements and effectively removing it from the competition. As a result, the company that submitted a price proposal nearly three times higher – over 392 million AMD – was declared the winner of the competition. These actions resulted in a violation of the rights and legitimate interests of the other participant foundation and significant damage to the state.
