French Farmers Prepare for Paris "Siege"
French farmers are set to begin their tractor-led "siege" of Paris today at 14:00 local time (17:00 Yerevan time). Local media reports indicate that unions are calling for the closure of the main highways leading into the capital at a total of eight points. The goal is to prevent any delivery of goods to Paris.
The action is expected to last for at least five days. Among the facilities that could be blocked are two key airports, Charles de Gaulle and Orly, as well as the largest agricultural market in Rungis.
Simultaneously, the French Ministry of the Interior has intensified security measures, deploying 15,000 police officers to maintain order.
