Azerbaijanis Return Sheep Stolen from Aravus Border
The Azerbaijanis have returned the sheep stolen from the border of the Aravus settlement in the Syunik Province. Armen Jahangiryan, the owner of the sheep, informed Tert.am about the development.
"The Azerbaijanis have returned as many sheep as they took, the issue was resolved through our security forces. They negotiated and returned the animals. They brought the livestock back yesterday evening at around 10 PM," the livestock owner elaborated.
Following the incident, the head of the Tegh community, Davit Ghulumyan, had reported that efforts were being made to return the sheep from the Azerbaijanis and that they had reached out to the Russians regarding the matter.
When the media inquired about how it came to be that the Azerbaijanis returned the sheep, and if the Russians assisted in this process, Davit Ghulumyan responded that they had contacted everyone, emphasizing that what mattered now was that the sheep belonging to the resident had been returned.
"The important thing is that they have been returned, and whoever brought them back deserves recognition. We informed the Russian side, but they are not involved in the return of the livestock," he stated.
It is worth mentioning that early yesterday morning, five Azerbaijanis, one of whom was armed, had seized around 270 sheep belonging to Armen Jahangiryan while they were being taken to pasture. His 16-year-old son was in charge of herding the sheep. When the Azerbaijanis attacked the flock, the young shepherd was on horseback and managed to escape quickly, saving several dozen sheep with him.
