Germany to Deploy Warship to Red Sea to Defend Against Houthi Attacks: Welt

Germany plans to send the frigate "Hessen" to the Red Sea on February 1, as well as employ military force to intercept missiles and drones from the Houthi Ansar Allah movement as part of a planned EU naval operation. This was reported by Welt.

The German naval ship has radar reconnaissance capabilities that can simultaneously detect 1,000 targets, anti-aircraft missiles, and is also equipped with attack helicopters.

According to the publication, the frigate has recently spent six months in the North Sea on NATO missions and participated in exercises in the Arctic.

It is worth noting that on the night of January 12, the United States and Great Britain launched strikes on Yemen. One day later, the U.S. carried out a second strike.
