Doctor Abused and Assaulted by Three Individuals: Details of the Incident
A doctor from the Yerevan Municipality's Ambulance Service has been assaulted. This was reported by the spokesperson for the Yerevan Mayor, Hayk Kostanyan.
The spokesperson noted, "A resident of the Ajapnyak administrative district, identified as A.A., has made 30 calls to the 1-03 emergency number since the beginning of the year. This morning, the ambulance was at the address indicated in the call. The patient requested that the doctor administer 'Tramadol,' but the doctor advised relying on his judgment, indicating that pain can also be managed with other medications.
Subsequently, the patient began to display aggressive behavior, making abusive statements and insisting that either his preferred medication be injected or the medical staff leave so that he could be administered his preferred drug by someone else responding to another call. Insults were directed at the doctor, after which the doctor was assaulted by three individuals.
Later, the doctor sought medical assistance and was diagnosed with a concussion, a broken nose, and scratches on his face.
This incident marks yet another case of violence against an emergency medical worker in Yerevan, who was performing his professional duties at the time.
