Tesla Temporarily Halts Production in Germany: WSJ

The electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla plans to suspend production at its Berlin factory for two weeks due to issues related to cargo delivery in the Red Sea. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing Interfax.

Tesla announced that it will nearly completely halt production at its massive factory located near Berlin starting January 29, due to a shortage of components. Production is expected to resume on February 12.

"The significant increase in transport times is creating openings in the supply chains. Due to the component shortage, we are forced to halt vehicle production at the Berlin factory," the statement said.

Transport companies have been forced to seek solutions due to attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea by Houthi rebels from Yemen, which has led to a significant increase in cargo delivery times.
