From February 1, Property Owners Renting Without a Contract or Declaration Will Be Fined
The State Revenue Committee (SRC) will begin administrative actions from February against property owners who do not have a rental agreement or a declaration regarding rental relationships. This was announced during a press conference by SRC Chairman Rustam Badasyan.
He reminded that an alternative opportunity has been provided for all property owners, allowing them to submit a declaration to the committee if, for various reasons, they cannot sign a rental agreement. They can declare that they have actual rental relationships and submit their annual income declaration next year to pay taxes.
“This is especially applicable in cases of daily or hourly rentals. It is clear that they cannot come to the cadastre every few days to register,” Badasyan added.
Already, 5000 citizens have responded to this proposal. The SRC will wait until February 1 for more property owners to respond before starting its inspections.
“We will collect all declarations until February 1. We have information obtained from other state agencies and our own data on where and what spaces are being rented out, and starting in February, we will gradually begin our administrative actions focusing on the rental of apartments in newly constructed buildings,” he elaborated.
The SRC Chairman urged citizens to voluntarily submit their declarations to avoid additional administrative actions and hefty fines.
