What the Foreign Ministers of Iran and Russia Discussed
The Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian welcomed the progress achieved in the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan during a phone conversation with Russian Minister Sergey Lavrov. This was reported by the IRNA agency, citing Iranian authorities.
"Hossein Amir Abdollahian and Sergey Lavrov discussed developments in the South Caucasus, bilateral cooperation, and the relations between the two countries," the agency writes.
Speaking about events in the Caucasus, Abdollahian welcomed the progress in negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He emphasized that Iran supports the establishment of peace and stability in the region.
According to the Iranian side, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Russia supports Iran's territorial integrity and does not intend to change its position on this issue.
