What Weather to Expect Until the End of the Week
In the territory of the Republic of Armenia, precipitation is expected during the day of December 24 and at night of December 25 in most regions, with snow and blizzards in mountainous areas, as well as ice on the roads. This is reported by the National Center for Hydrometeorology and Monitoring of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations.
On the day of December 25, no precipitation is expected. The wind will be westerly at 4-7 m/s, with gusts in some areas reaching speeds of 28-33 m/s.
The temperature will rise by 4-6 degrees during the day of December 25-26.
“Today during the day and tonight, snow is expected in Shirak, Lori, in the foothills of Tavush, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor, and in the foothills of Syunik, with isolated areas experiencing intense snowfall, wind gusts of 28-33 m/s, blizzards, and ice on the roads,” the report states.
In Yerevan, precipitation is expected today during the day and tonight, with wet snow in the higher elevations of the city and rain mixed with snow in the lower elevations. Gusty winds at 17-20 m/s are also anticipated today. The expected precipitation in Yerevan will be in the form of wet snow in higher elevations and rain mixed with snow in lower elevations.
